Chapter 1Verse 21 of 47

Bhagavad Gita 1.21

हृषीकेशं तदा वाक्यमिदमाह महीपते । अर्जुन उवाच । सेनयोरुभयोर्मध्ये रथं स्थापय मेऽच्युत ॥

hṛṣīkeśaṃ tadā vākyam idam āha mahī-pate | arjuna uvāca: senayor ubhayor madhye rathaṃ sthāpaya me 'cyuta ||

Translation

O lord of the earth, he then said these words to Hrishikesha. Arjuna said: Achyuta, station my chariot between the two armies.

Senayor ubhayor madhye. Between the two armies. The first sentence Arjuna speaks asks Krishna to park him in the gap. Not advance, not retreat. Drive me into the middle so I can look. This is the request that breaks him. He does not yet know that. Wanting to see before deciding sounds like wisdom and is sometimes wisdom and is sometimes the thing that drains the deciding out of you. He asks anyway.

Reflection

Where are you asking for one more look you don't need?
