Bhagavad Gita 1.38
यद्यप्येते न पश्यन्ति लोभोपहतचेतसः । कुलक्षयकृतं दोषं मित्रद्रोहे च पातकम् ॥
yady apy ete na paśyanti lobhopahata-cetasaḥ | kula-kṣaya-kṛtaṃ doṣaṃ mitra-drohe ca pātakam ||
Translation
Even though these, with minds destroyed by greed, do not see the evil of the destruction of the family and the sin of treachery to friends,

Where are you taking on the work of seeing for two, and what is it costing you?

The argument expands outward. The other side does not see the wrong they do; we, however, see it. Granting the enemy the worse position is how Arjuna keeps the higher ground he is using to justify lowering the bow. Lobhopahata-cetasaḥ, minds destroyed by greed. Once you assume the other party cannot see, your only remaining job is to see for both of you. Convenient. And worth interrogating in your own life.
