Bhagavad Gita 11.38
त्वमादिदेवः पुरुषः पुराणस्त्वमस्य विश्वस्य परं निधानम् | वेत्तासि वेद्यं च परं च धाम त्वया ततं विश्वमनन्तरूप ||
tvam ādi-devaḥ puruṣaḥ purāṇas tvam asya viśvasya paraṁ nidhānam | vettāsi vedyaṁ ca paraṁ ca dhāma tvayā tataṁ viśvam ananta-rūpa ||
Translation
You are the first god, the ancient person. You are the supreme abode of this universe. You are the knower and what is to be known, and the supreme abode. By you is the universe pervaded, O one of infinite form.

By you the universe is pervaded, O one of infinite form. Adi-devah purushah puranah. The first god, the ancient person. The titles repeat the language of 11.18 and place it within the closing hymn. Vetta asi vedyam cha. You are the knower and what is to be known. The subject and the object of all knowing collapsed into one. Tvaya tatam vishvam ananta-rupa, by you is the universe stretched out. Arjuna names the form as the principle that holds the whole structure of knowing inside itself. The praise is climbing toward its widest reach.
