Chapter 18Verse 65 of 78

Bhagavad Gita 18.65

मन्मना भव मद्भक्तो मद्याजी मां नमस्कुरु । मामेवैष्यसि सत्यं ते प्रतिजाने प्रियोऽसि मे ॥

man-manā bhava mad-bhakto mad-yājī māṃ namaskuru / mām evaiṣyasi satyaṃ te pratijāne priyo 'si me

Translation

Be of mind in me, be devoted to me, sacrifice to me, bow to me. To me alone you will come. Truly I promise you, you are dear to me.

The four-fold practice and the personal promise. Man-mana bhava, let your mind be in me. Mad-bhakto, be devoted to me. Mad-yaji, offer sacrifice to me. Mam namaskuru, bow to me. Mind, devotion, sacrifice, body bowed, the four channels of the human being are all turned in one direction. Mam eva eshyasi, to me you will come, without fail. Satyam te pratijane, this I promise you in truth. Priyo 'si me, you are dear to me. The personal voice is unmistakable. The Gita is being spoken from one specific being to one specific being. The mantra is universal in application but personal in delivery. Repeat the four. Trust the promise.

Reflection

Which of the four channels is least turned toward the One you call divine?
