Chapter 2Verse 10 of 72

Bhagavad Gita 2.10

तमुवाच हृषीकेशः प्रहसन्निव भारत । सेनयोरुभयोर्मध्ये विषीदन्तमिदं वचः ॥

tam uvāca hṛṣīkeśaḥ prahasann iva bhārata | senayor ubhayor madhye viṣīdantam idaṃ vacaḥ ||

Translation

O descendant of Bharata, to him thus despondent between the two armies, Hrishikesha, smiling as it were, spoke these words.

Prahasann iva. Smiling, as it were. The half-smile of the teacher who has heard this argument before. Krishna is not amused; he is not cruel. He is recognizing. Senayor ubhayor madhye. Between the two armies. The geography has not changed since 1.21, when Arjuna asked to be parked here. But the chariot has become the schoolroom. The Gita's longest teaching is about to begin in the spot Arjuna picked as a viewing platform. He asked to see. He will be answered.

Reflection

Who in your life smiles a little when you say the thing you think is unique?
