Bhagavad Gita 7.28
येषां त्वन्तगतं पापं जनानां पुण्यकर्मणाम् | ते द्वन्द्वमोहनिर्मुक्ता भजन्ते मां दृढव्रताः ||
yeṣāṁ tv anta-gataṁ pāpaṁ janānāṁ puṇya-karmaṇām | te dvandva-moha-nirmuktā bhajante māṁ dṛḍha-vratāḥ ||
Translation
But those of meritorious actions, whose sin has come to an end, worship me, being freed from the delusion of the pairs of opposites, and being firm in their belief.
Reflection
What inner clearing might make your own worship steadier than it currently is?
Read this verse in its chapter: Chapter Seven
But for those whose sins have come to an end, who do meritorious works, who are freed from the delusion of the pairs, the worship turns firm. The vow holds. They worship Him with steadiness. The verse traces the order. First, the inner clearing. The wrong action has stopped, the right action has been done, the swing between the pairs has eased. Then, on that ground, devotion settles in. Without the clearing, the worship is fragile. With it, the vow can be kept. Krishna does not say devotion comes first and the clearing follows. He says the clearing makes the devotion possible.
