Bhagavad Gita 9.3
अश्रद्दधानाः पुरुषा धर्मस्यास्य परन्तप | अप्राप्य मां निवर्तन्ते मृत्युसंसारवर्त्मनि ||
aśraddadhānāḥ puruṣā dharmasyāsya parantapa | aprāpya māṁ nivartante mṛtyu-saṁsāra-vartmani ||
Translation
Men without faith in this duty return, O destroyer of foes, without obtaining me, to the path of mortal samsara.

Read this verse in its chapter: Chapter Nine
The reverse case. Men without faith in this practice do not reach Krishna, and they fall back into the road of death and rebirth. Faith here does not mean credulity. It is the willingness to act on the teaching long enough to see whether it bears the fruit it claims to bear. Without that willingness the doctrine is collected without ever being tested, and life proceeds along the unchanged road of want and loss and want again. Krishna is not threatening the unbeliever. He is naming the mechanism. A practice not entered into does not give its results. The verse balances the previous one. Susukham kartum is true only of the practice actually undertaken.
