Bhagavad Gita 10.8
अहं सर्वस्य प्रभवो मत्तः सर्वं प्रवर्तते | इति मत्वा भजन्ते मां बुधा भावसमन्विताः ||
ahaṁ sarvasya prabhavo mattaḥ sarvaṁ pravartate | iti matvā bhajante māṁ budhā bhāva-samanvitāḥ ||
Translation
I am the source of all. From me all proceeds. Knowing this, the wise, full of devotion, worship me.

The seed verse of the chapter. I am the source of everything; from Me everything proceeds. Knowing this, the wise, filled with bhava, worship Krishna. Iti matva, having known thus, makes the worship that follows a consequence of the knowing rather than a substitute for it. The wise here are not those who have piled up information about Krishna. They are those for whom the recognition of the source has settled in deeply enough to issue in bhava, in feeling-toned devotion. The verse will become the doorway of countless commentaries. Within the chapter it sits as the hinge between the catalogue's claim and the catalogue's display. Once the listener can say aham sarvasya prabhavah and mean it, the long list that follows becomes a series of glimpses rather than items.
