Chapter 11Verse 26 of 55

Bhagavad Gita 11.26

अमी च त्वां धृतराष्ट्रस्य पुत्राः सर्वे सहैवावनिपालसंघैः | भीष्मो द्रोणः सूतपुत्रस्तथासौ सहास्मदीयैरपि योधमुख्यैः ||

amī ca tvāṁ dhṛtarāṣṭrasya putrāḥ sarve sahaivāvani-pāla-saṅghaiḥ | bhīṣmo droṇaḥ sūta-putras tathāsau sahāsmadīyair api yodha-mukhyaiḥ ||

Translation

All these sons of Dhritarashtra, together with the hosts of lords of the earth, Bhishma, Drona, and the son of the charioteer too, together with the chief warriors on our side.

The sons of Dhritarashtra are entering you. All of them, with the hosts of lords of the earth. Bhishma, Drona, and the son of the charioteer too. With the chief warriors on our side as well. Ami cha tvam dhritarashtrasya putrah sarve. The vision now includes the specific people Arjuna would have to fight or fight beside in this very battle. The grandfather Bhishma, the teacher Drona, the half-brother Karna. All of them, named, are being seen entering Krishna's body. The verse breaks the abstract scale of the prior verses by importing the specific names of the present war. Arjuna's distress is no longer about cosmic scale. It is about his own people. The vision has come down to the field he is standing on.

Whose specific names show up in the largest picture you can hold right now?
