Bhagavad Gita 11.54
भक्त्या त्वनन्यया शक्य अहमेवंविधोऽर्जुन | ज्ञातुं द्रष्टुं च तत्त्वेन प्रवेष्टुं च परन्तप ||
bhaktyā tv ananyayā śakya aham evaṁ-vidho'rjuna | jñātuṁ draṣṭuṁ ca tattvena praveṣṭuṁ ca parantapa ||
Translation
But by undivided devotion can I be known and seen in this form in truth, O Arjuna, and entered into, O scorcher of foes.

But by undivided devotion can I be known and seen and entered in this form, in truth, O Arjuna, O scorcher of foes. Bhaktya tu ananyaya. The crucial word is ananyaya, undivided, not directed elsewhere. The bhakti the chapter names is not a feeling but an orientation. Jnatum drashtum cha tattvena praveshtum cha. To know, to see, and to enter in. Three verbs are placed in sequence. The form is opened by an orientation that excludes other ultimate addresses. Tattvena, in truth, in reality, blocks the reading that this is symbolic or sentimental. The verse names the means that 11.48 and 11.53 ruled out the alternatives for. The answer is short and exact.
