Bhagavad Gita 13.33
यथा प्रकाशयत्येकः कृत्स्नं लोकमिमं रविः। क्षेत्रं क्षेत्री तथा कृत्स्नं प्रकाशयति भारत॥
yathā prakāśayaty ekaḥ kṛtsnaṁ lokam imaṁ raviḥ kṣetraṁ kṣetrī tathā kṛtsnaṁ prakāśayati bhārata
Translation
As one sun illuminates this whole world, so the knower of the field illuminates the whole field, Bharata.
Reflection
When you notice anything, ask: what lights this so it can be noticed?
Read this verse in its chapter: Chapter Thirteen
Second analogy. One sun lights everything. Krishna does not need ten suns or a million flashlights. Single source, total illumination. Likewise, the kshetri, the knower of the field, lights up the whole field at once. The image is again gentle and total. Whatever in the body or mind is known, is known by this single illuminating presence. Sensation, thought, mood, memory, perception, decision. All lit by one knower. The verse offers a daily exercise without naming it. Today, when you notice anything at all, ask: what lights this so that it can be noticed? Then rest in the simple sufficiency of the answer. Not many witnesses. One.
