Bhagavad Gita 5.19
इहैव तैर्जितः सर्गो येषां साम्ये स्थितं मनः । निर्दोषं हि समं ब्रह्म तस्माद्ब्रह्मणि ते स्थिताः ॥
ihaiva tair jitaḥ sargo yeṣāṃ sāmye sthitaṃ manaḥ | nirdoṣaṃ hi samaṃ brahma tasmād brahmaṇi te sthitāḥ ||
Translation
Here, in this world, creation is conquered by those whose minds rest on this equality; for the Brahman is without defect and equable; therefore they rest in the Brahman.

Read this verse in its chapter: Chapter Five
Ihaiva. Here itself. Not in another world, not after death. Jitaḥ sargaḥ, creation conquered, by those whose minds stand in sāmya, sameness. Nirdoṣaṃ samaṃ brahma, faultless, equal, the Brahman. The verse gives the logical step: if the highest is faultless and equal, then the mind that has gone equal has, by that fact, gone to the highest. Brahmaṇi sthitāḥ, they stand in Brahman. Shankara reads this as the chapter's compactest statement of the operational shortcut: equanimity is not the means to Brahman, it is the standing in Brahman.
