Bhagavad Gita 5.7
योगयुक्तो विशुद्धात्मा विजितात्मा जितेन्द्रियः । सर्वभूतात्मभूतात्मा कुर्वन्नपि न लिप्यते ॥
yoga-yukto viśuddhātmā vijitātmā jitendriyaḥ | sarva-bhūtātma-bhūtātmā kurvann api na lipyate ||
Translation
He who is devoted to yoga, who has purified his self, who has subdued his self and conquered the senses, whose self has become the self of all beings, even when he acts, is not stained.

Read this verse in its chapter: Chapter Five
Five qualifiers stacked, then the verb. Sarva-bhūtātma-bhūtātmā, his self the self of all beings. The compound is the chapter's distinctive vocabulary: not equality with all, but identification. Kurvann api na lipyate, even acting, he is not smeared. The verb lipyate, smear, is the chapter's chosen image: action will normally stick like paint. To the one with the right inner geometry, the paint does not adhere. The verse is the picture of the karma yogi from the inside.
