Bhagavad Gita 7.11
बलं बलवतां चाहं कामरागविवर्जितम् | धर्माविरुद्धो भूतेषु कामोऽस्मि भरतर्षभ ||
balaṁ balavatāṁ cāhaṁ kāma-rāga-vivarjitam | dharmāviruddho bhūteṣu kāmo'smi bharatarṣabha ||
Translation
And of the strong am I the strength devoid of desire and passion; and in all beings I am desire not contrary to duty, O chief of the Bharatas.
Reflection
A strength or desire of yours today, in its clean form, would look how?
Read this verse in its chapter: Chapter Seven
He picks the harder cases. The strength of the strong, but without lust and attachment. Desire in beings, but only the desire that does not violate dharma. He is making a distinction the world usually does not. Strength used to dominate is not the strength He claims. Desire that crosses what is right is not the desire He claims. He is in the clean version of each. The strong man who lifts without needing to be feared. The desire that pulls a man toward what he should rightly want. The line is sharp. Power and wanting are not in themselves the trouble. The trouble is in their unclean forms. Their clean forms are sacred.
