Bhagavad Gita 8.23
यत्र काले त्वनावृत्तिमावृत्तिं चैव योगिनः | प्रयाता यान्ति तं कालं वक्ष्यामि भरतर्षभ ||
yatra kāle tv anāvṛttim āvṛttiṁ caiva yoginaḥ | prayātā yānti taṁ kālaṁ vakṣyāmi bharatarṣabha ||
Translation
I shall now declare, O chief of the Bharatas, the times at which yogis, departing, go never to return, and those at which they return.

What part of your interior is already preparing one of the two exits?
Read this verse in its chapter: Chapter Eight
He sets up the next section. He will name the times at which yogis leave never to return, and the times at which they leave and do come back. The verse is preparatory. What follows is the two-paths teaching, the bright path of no-return and the dark path of return. He is naming it as something to know plainly, not as an esoteric secret. The yogi who has been doing the work needs to know the structure of departure so he can recognize what is happening when it begins to happen. The verse opens what will become a short, dense passage, and he wants the reader's attention focused.
