Bhagavad Gita 8.24
अग्निर्ज्योतिरहः शुक्लः षण्मासा उत्तरायणम् | तत्र प्रयाता गच्छन्ति ब्रह्म ब्रह्मविदो जनाः ||
agnir jyotir ahaḥ śuklaḥ ṣaṇ-māsā uttarāyaṇam | tatra prayātā gacchanti brahma brahma-vido janāḥ ||
Translation
Fire, light, day, the bright fortnight, the six months of the sun's northern path, those departing then, the knowers of Brahman, go to Brahman.

The bright path. Fire, light, day, the waxing fortnight, the six months of the sun's northern course. The departing yogis who go at these times reach Brahman. Each item is a symbol of luminosity. The departure is being described not by clock time but by spiritual quality. The yogi whose state at the last is one of fire, of light, of clarity, departs by the bright path. The outer phenomena are images for the inner condition. The man who has built clarity, who is interior to his light, takes the bright path because the bright path is what he already is. The exit matches the interior.
