Bhagavad Gita 2.7
कार्पण्यदोषोपहतस्वभावः पृच्छामि त्वां धर्मसम्मूढचेताः । यच्छ्रेयः स्यान्निश्चितं ब्रूहि तन्मे शिष्यस्तेऽहं शाधि मां त्वां प्रपन्नम् ॥
kārpaṇya-doṣopahata-svabhāvaḥ pṛcchāmi tvāṃ dharma-sammūḍha-cetāḥ | yac chreyaḥ syān niścitaṃ brūhi tan me śiṣyas te 'haṃ śādhi māṃ tvāṃ prapannam ||
Translation
My nature smitten with the taint of weak pity, my mind bewildered about my duty, I ask you. Tell me what is assuredly good for me. I am your disciple; teach me, who have thrown myself on your mercy.

When did you last name your weakness instead of defending it?

The despair finishes its work. The student appears. Śiṣyas te 'ham. I am your disciple. Prapannam. I have thrown myself on you. Three things have just happened in one verse. Arjuna names his weakness instead of defending it (kārpaṇya-doṣa, the taint of being small). He names his confusion instead of resolving it (dharma-sammūḍha-cetāḥ, mind bewildered about duty). And he asks. Krishna has been waiting for this sentence. The teaching that follows for sixteen chapters does not begin until Arjuna says teach me. Help is conditional on the hand reaching for it.
